Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn (born Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn) is an American actor working in television, film, and theater. She is a talented thespian who is active in the professional world for the last 27 years. Her first professional role came in the year 1990 with an Off-Broadway production from The Big Funk, by John Patrick Shanley. The show was later adapted to her first role on television, The Perfect Tribute. In 1992, she received her big break when she played as a secondary character in Basic Instinct. In the film The Firm however that she got the role of woman leading the film for just the first time. She was cast in the film alongside stars like Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. In the 90s, she worked alongside some of the top actors in Hollywood, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Hugh Grant. Most recently, she played her character of the character of Dr. Alex Blake in Criminal Minds.

In her early years, she began playing golf and in 2007, aged 12, she became the first woman to be qualified for the US Women's Open. The event did not go to competition but she did win the Aldila Junior Classic in the same year to become the second. she the youngest American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) player to win the title as well as being the winner of the Westfield Junior PGA Championship as the youngest player to do in the same year.
